The NEW Quick 8 Outlaws For 2012

(11-16-2011) COLUMBIA, SC – After several successful racing seasons the Quick 8 Outlaws Powerglide Pro Mod "club" will be no more. But, does that mean the Quick 8 Outlaws are done racing? The answer is no. With seven races already booked for the 2012 season the future for the Quick 8 Outlaws is very promising.

On Saturday, November 12th after the final awards banquet it was announced that the Quick 8 Outlaws will be back in 2012. Not only will they be back, they have made several changes.
These new changes will help them grow and put on better races for the fans and competitors. One of the first changes is that there will no longer be an association fee. Secondly, there is no transmission rule. Any transmission is welcome. It will an eight-car field with two alternates and will run the pro ladder instead of the sportsman.

"We are really excited about the format," said Kip Kauffman. "One of the first things that we want the racers to know is that there will be absolutely no rules changes mid season. We have never changed a rule during a season and never will. The rules that are in place now will be the same rules that will be in place the whole 2012 season. There’s not going to be an association fee, just show up and race. We’ve opened up the transmission and we really feel that is going to help. It doesn’t matter which transmission you have, we want everyone to come race with us."

The list of racers that have shown interest in racing with the Quick 8 Outlaws has grown quickly over the last three weeks. That list includes; Todd Tutterow, Rocky Raynor, Danny Blankenship, Dewayne Silance, Ric Fleck, Sonny Tindal, Tommy Mauney, Troy Jordan, Chris Rini, Kip Kauffman with Robbie Matthews, Steve Bray, Darrin Hoyle, Dennis Jordan, Robbie Keziah, Carol Long, Chris Patrick, Tom and William Joseph, Kerry Crosby, Kevin Mayer, Don Benton, Tylor Miller, Sambo Price, JR Linton and many more.

The rules for the 2012 Quick 8 Outlaws season will be as follows:
1. IHRA safety rules will be used as a guideline. Example, engine diaper, full face helmet, neck collar, jacket, pants and gloves to meet SFI specs.
2. Only full body cars and trucks with working doors.
3. No screw blowers, nitromethane or multiple power adders.
4. Any Transmission.
5. It will be an eight-car field with the pro ladder. If you break in the burnout box, it will then be a bye run. If the racer can’t make the call for the first round of eliminations, the first alternate will then be in the field.
